FEDERAL SOLAR TAX CREDIT
The FTC or ITC ( Investment Tax Credit) is a tax credit that is based off the cost of your system. This is an incentive for all tax paying Americans that drastically offsets the cost of owning a solar P.V system. The ITC decreases as years go by. SOLAR RENEWABLE ENERGY CERTIFICATE
Each participating State has a different SREC value. SREC's are certificates earned by a homeowner that generates clean energy. A home owner earns one SREC for every 1000 kWh of clean energy produced by his/her solar P.V system. These certificates (credits) are sold to your utility company for cash that is direct deposited to you (or check by mail) quarterly or annually by the SREC aggregator of your choice. This system helps the state validate how close it is getting to reaching is mandated goal. This money is also used to offset the cost of owning your solar P.V system.
